2. What we collect and why
We only collect the data we need to run your transfer and operate this website.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking and carrying out your transfer (online booking form, phone, WhatsApp, email) | Name, email, phone number, country, pickup and drop-off places, date and time, flight or train number, number of passengers, luggage, child or booster seats, vehicle chosen, price, payment method chosen, any note you add | Performance of our contract with you (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) | For the duration of the booking, then as required by French accounting and tax law (generally up to 10 years for invoices and accounting records) |
| Answering your enquiries (contact form, email, WhatsApp, phone) | Name, email, phone number, your message | Our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps taken at your request before a contract (art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)) | Up to 3 years after our last contact with you |
| Payments | Whether you pay by cash, card or online. This website does not ask for or store your card number. | Performance of our contract (art. 6(1)(b)) | As for bookings above |
| Legal and accounting obligations | Booking, invoice and payment records | Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)) | As required by law (generally up to 10 years) |
| Measuring how the site is used (statistics, improving the site) | Pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, IP address, referring site (see section 5) | Our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site, your consent, which we ask for before any statistics cookie is set (art. 6(1)(a)) | Cookies for no more than 13 months. Statistics are kept for a limited period set in our analytics account, never longer than 14 months |
| Keeping the website secure | IP address and technical logs kept by our hosting provider | Legitimate interest in security (art. 6(1)(f)) | Short rolling period set by the hosting provider |
Giving us your booking details is necessary to make a booking: without them we cannot carry out your transfer. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your data.
3. Who receives your data
Your data is seen only by us and by the service providers that help us run the website and the service, under their own data-protection commitments:
- Hosting: Hostinger hosts this website and its database (including bookings) on servers located in the European Union, and provides our email service.
- Drivers or partner drivers who carry out your transfer receive what they need to meet you (name, pickup place, time, flight number, phone number, number of passengers and seats).
- Payment provider, only if you choose to pay online or by card.
- Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) for site statistics, only if you accept statistics cookies, and Google Fonts and public content-delivery networks (cdnjs / Cloudflare, jsDelivr, jQuery CDN) that serve fonts and scripts. These providers receive your IP address and browser details when your browser loads their files.
- WhatsApp (Meta), TripAdvisor, Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps if you choose to click the links to them. They are independent services with their own privacy policies and open in a new tab.
- Public authorities, courts or tax authorities when the law requires us to share data.
4. Transfers outside the EU
Our website and database are hosted in the EU. Some providers listed above (notably Google and Meta) may process data in the United States or other countries. Where this happens, the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for certified companies) or on Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file stored in your browser. This website uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which need no consent: a cookie that remembers your cookie choice, and the technical cookies the booking form needs to work.
- Statistics cookies (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics), which tell us in aggregate how visitors use the site. They are set only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then, no request is sent to Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
bpc_cookie_consent | Best Paris Cab (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or refused statistics cookies | 180 days |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to produce anonymous-style statistics (only after you accept) | Up to 13 months |
You can change your mind at any time: click here or at the bottom of any page. Refusing statistics cookies does not stop you from booking a transfer. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. We keep your choice for 180 days and then ask again.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- erase your data, unless we must keep it by law (for example accounting records);
- restrict how we use your data in certain cases;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a portable format for data you gave us under a contract;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting what was done before;
- give instructions about what happens to your data after your death (French law).
To exercise a right, email reservation@bestpariscab.com. We reply within one month and may ask you to prove your identity. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr, 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07), or to the authority in your own country.
7. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Access to bookings is limited to authorised persons, and our hosting provider applies technical protection to its EU servers. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as card numbers by email or WhatsApp.
8. Children
Our services are for adults who book on behalf of themselves and their group. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. When you tell us the number of child or booster seats you need, that is information about your journey, not a record about a child.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this page, for example when we add a service or change a provider. The date at the top shows the latest version.
